Happy Birthday Savannah!

So believe it or not, we officially have a two year old. We celebrated Savannah's second birthday yesterday with our usual party involving all of her close friends (a few new additions this year including" baby boy" from Aunt Jackie and Uncle Dave!) This year's attendees included Mama sheep, TJ bear (also a new friend) , Baa Baa (of course), Detroit the penguin and a sleepy little brother! Savannah helped us make her cake as well, which let's just say was a slightly bigger hit than last year's cake. I have officially decided to stop trying to make "healthy" cakes for her birthday and as Tom said "Next year we are getting you a box of yellow cake mix and Betty Crocker chocolate frosting". We did give her a little bit of a store bought chocolate cake we had from when friend's brought dinner earlier this week and she wasn't too interested in it either. I guess she may not be a cake girl (Aunt Andrea you might not be alone anymore!)

She loves to help and couldn't resist helping to mix her cake!

My mom left Thursday and celebrated some with Savannah and Tom's parents are getting here today so this was the party in between grandparent's visits.

What a big girl

Can you say life of the party!
She was unsure about the whole birthday candle blowing out thing, she just kept wanting to touch the flame, not the best idea in the world!

Eating the cool whip off the top and showing off some good fork skills!

Savannah saying "I don't want it" then requesting a "new one"
Ma ma sheep enjoyed her cake (actually that was tom's piece that he didn't want to finish)

Before the party, Savannah spent some good quality time with daddy going to the indoor playplace and getting a birthday smoothie! Tom took a few hours off to spend some time with his little girl and they had a great time together.

After dinner with our friends, we went into the "special room" where her presents were hidden. She was very excited and kept talking about opening presents all day. The most spcial present that she got was a table and two chairs made by daddy just for Savannah. He has been working on them for a few months now to make sure they were done by her birthday (especially with Isaiah making his appearance right before her birthday) and they look great! I am so proud of how hard he has worked with the limited tools that we have and they look so good!
The finished product (actually there are a few more things he wants to do like add fabric and padding to the chairs, but that is to come)
She is very excited about her new easel as well. Thanks Aunt Andrea and Uncle Jim!
She also had presents to open up from all of our families and we have been very blessed by how much she is loved!
Thanks to everyone who sent her fun presents, she loved it all!

She just looks like such a big girl here, where did the last two years go?
Classic Savannah

Look at that concentration!

She is such a joy to us and has been very helpful with Isaiah being around (although we have had some regression in sleep patterns and disobedience lately, but we have to expect some of that I guess). She is such a smart little girl and has really been blessed by the Lord with gifts and talents that are so fun to see developing. She loves to sing and likes to sing especially when we are out and about which always makes the people at the grocery store smile! She is talking all the time and most of the time is using at least 5-6 word sentences and uses pronouns correctly as well as adjetives. She loves to play and read books and can sing most of her ABC's skipping a few letters here and there. We love her so much and are so blessed by the amazing gift she is from the Lord.
