So Sue and I have been talking for quite awhile about getting a blog together simply to keep up with everyone. With our family all over the country and friends left behind in Raleigh, Muncie, Louisville, Philadelphia and more we figured it was about time to make some effort at staying more connected. Of course "staying connected" in the 21st century looks quite a bit different than it did in the past. Though technology is great it can never replace the face to face interaction of friends and family. Nevertheless, we hope this is a fun way to keep friends and family updated on what we are doing. This way you can check in whenever you want. You can see pictures of what we've been up to, see what God is doing in our lives, and just maybe you'll find out something interesting about us. Hopefully we'll stay pretty regular with updating this (ideally once or twice a week). You should be able to catch both Sue and I (Tom) on here leaving thoughts from time to time. We'll see how this goes. Welcome to a Stephens life.

We have been living in Richmond, Virginia since October of 2006. As in every city we have lived in we love finding great urban parks and rivers. This is a view of downtown Richmond from the middle of the James River. We loving hiking around Belle Isle, hopping around the rapids, and just enjoying the outdoors in the heart of the city. We have much more to explore but so far Belle Isle has been a great find. A one time Powhatan Indian fishing village, a colonial era horse track, a Civil War prison for Union soldiers, and a industrial era work site this place has lots of interesting stories and views. Today its a great escape from the stress or heat of the day.
As our tagline says, we are a growing family. We are expecting our first child in August and Sue has the belly to prove it. The picture shows her at 33 weeks...no that's not a soccer ball under there. Dixie does not yet know what's to come for her. We are excited about the blessings in store and humbled by the responsibility. Come August you can expect a little girl (99% they say) and two parents trying to figure out what they're doing!

The first official Father's To Be Day picture. According to Sue the cake was made by "Baby Girl" Stephens, with only a little assistance from mom. I guess I have to take her word for it since I was still sleeping.
So as you can see we are indeed a growing and changing family. Hopefully all this will entertain and inform. Thanks for sharing in our lives.
