4th of July, 11th month and more

HAPPY 4 YEARS TO US! (more on that to come)

So far July in Georgia has not turned out too bad. The weather really isn’t too hot, it is humid but it has been humid everywhere we have lived along the east coast (Philly, Richmond, VA and now here). We have spent the past two weekends just hanging around Savannah. We are still under contract and have spent some time trying to pick out colors and figure out what we are going to need to do right when we move in. Our inspection was this past Monday and there are some things that the seller needs to do but it looks like we will be closing in at the end of the month!

We had a good 4th of July holiday since Tom had the day off of work. We decided to get out and do what we do best and explore! We went to a cemetary here that has some very old graves and is right on the river, it was a very interesting trip. We also went dowtown for the fireworks but decided to watch them from the roof of the parking deck since they started way after Savannah’s bedtime. We thought we could cut out soon but she loved them and just stood watching with her mouth open. It was a great idea as well because we could literally see fireworks going off all over the 360 degree view. We saw about 10-15 different sets going off at once which was pretty cool. As you can see Savannah was amazed!



We have also been to the beach for both of the past two weekends. For the 4th of July weekend we went on Sunday night to just enjoy the beach and Savannah loved walking around and exploring. This past weekend we went again on Sunday morning and we have discovered that our child is fearless. She went running straight for the ocean and loved playing in the water this time. The previous trips she has been hesitant and scared by the water but this time she was a different baby, a toddler you might say. She loved the water, she loved the sand, she ate both and could not get enough of running all over the beach. She even took off after another child’s beach toys, I guess we know what she needs for her birthday!

The closer to her first birthday that we get the more and more we are amazed at how much she has grown and changed. She now has 7 teeth total and does not like baby food anymore. She would prefer to eat by herself and loves to try new things. She has really started to mimic everything that we say and do. She is really working on her words too. She tries very hard to say certain words that she hears us say and then comes back and will repeat them at just the right time. It is amazing how God has created our brains to just soak up every little thing to learn and process it. We have gone to the park several times and she loves to watch Dixie play and run.




Let me go ahead and warn you that the next few pictures may make a few grandparents squimish. Let me assure you that no baby was injured in the taking of these pictures!!!

Tom loves to play with Savannah and she loves being tossed into the air. Don’t worry he always catches her and only daddy can play with her and make her laugh really hard.

We have been to several churches lately including a small church that meets out of a banquet hall and the pastor and his wife even had us over for dinner. They have 4 children including a 3 month old and Savannah loved playing with the kids and going through everything at their house. We also went to a Sunday night service this past Sunday for an inner city ministry we found here. Savannah and I had to leave because it was a very small building and she was a little eager to walk around so Tom enjoyed the service. It seems like they are really doing a good job of reaching out to the community and are a place that anyone can come. We are still trusting God in this church search and know that He has plans for us.

We are also getting very excited because one of my best friends and her husband are coming to visit us in August. She was on project with us in Louisville and we haven’t seen her since her wedding almost two years ago. Tom is such a great husband, he invited Erica and Joel to visit and I am blessed by her friendship but also by Tom, what an amazing, loving, caring man he is. Our 4th anniversary is this week and we are hoping to celebrate after Savannah goes to bed since we don’t know anyone to watch her while we go to dinner or something. What a great 4 years this has been! I am blessed by Tom, he truly is an amazing man!
