LIFE MORE ABUNDANT.: Catching up.

So it has been quite a while since we have had a significant post with lots of pictures so we will try to make up for the lost time. We would like to give a big shout out to the pastor of a church we have been going to for allowing us to borrow his computer, thanks Bill!! We have been busy with visiting family, celebrating new babies (more of new baby Harrison Henry Grubbs later in the post) and trying to enjoy the fall. So you may ask what we have been up to for the last month or so. Well, for Labor Day weekend we went to Blue Ridge GA to meet Tom’s parents his brothers and their wives for a celebration of his parent’s 30th wedding anniversary. We had a great time and here are a few pictures with the cute little girl and all of her doting aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Savannah did pretty well in the car, well lets be honest it was really only because we put her crib bumper in the back seat for a while with her and she would just smile, pat the bumper and laugh. Every now and then she would suck her thumb but she was just happy with her bumper. She also decided she liked the sprout a little bit and allowed us to keep it in. (It is now officially gone as she has had a haircut and her bangs are pretty short, see picture later in post)

Savannah has also recently enjoyed wearing daddy’s clothes. She doesn’t quite fit in them but she loves to wear them and attempt to walk around. Let’s just say she doesn’t get far.

With the weather cooling off quite a bit (in GA that means the low 80’s) we have been getting out even more than we were before and Savannah loves playing on the playground. She has discovered how to go down the slide on her own and she LOVES the swing. We have gotten to met a few people there but it’s the normal playground relationship (all about the kids, forget to introduce yourself and never see you there again). Pretty frustrating when you don’t really know anyone and you are looking for friends, but good conversation none the less.

Now to the newest family member, baby Harrison Henry Grubbs! He was born on 9-4-08 weighing 7lbs. 4oz. and with a head full of dark hair. Savannah and I went up there about two weeks later and he is cute as could be. I think he grew on Savannah because the day before we left she just kept asking to see him and touch him even though he was sleeping at the time. Jayne ended up having a C-section but she and Harrison are doing well and she has been doing a great job nursing and taking care of him. He really is a very cute baby and we had a good time meeting him and playing with him. We tried to get Savannah to take a picture with him and this is the best that we came up with. You can tell by this picture that Savannah was just concerned about her snack and didn't care too much for taking pictures.

We are very happy for Jayne and Jason and they are already doing such a great job with such little sleep.

Tom has been pretty busy with work on several different projects and I think he is really enjoying his job. I have been posting on Craigslist to find a family to do childcare for to supplement our income but also just be of assistance to another family who wants to find good childcare. So if anyone is in Savannah reading this and needs childcare just give me a call!!! Ok, so maybe none of you are in Savannah but I have been corrected from my last post that there are more of you out there reading in blogland than I thought and I apologize for my misquote of previous. I also must apologize too that if there are more of you that read this you really haven’t had much to read at all lately so sorry!

As I stated at the beginning we have been attending Community Bible Church of Savannah and really have enjoyed the church so far. The pastor is great and not afraid to speak truth and really challenge you to look at your life and discover areas that Jesus desires change in your life so that you are a better light for Him. We have attended one small group with the church and look forward to being part of the body and community there.

Savannah did have another haircut this week. As many of you may remember, we had to cut her bangs in April as they were really long. Well, they were really long again and she couldn’t see too well so they got a trim in the bath the other night. She loves the bath again now and will actually sit down to play in the water which she rarely wants to do. She is just becoming a toddler so fast and we are amazed daily about how fast she is growing. She knows quite a few words now including milk, duck, fish, ma ma, da da, more, working on thank you, juice, Dixie, dog and probably a few others that I don’t remember right now. She will be 14 months old in a few days and she is just such a great child who loves to explore, learn, play and enjoy life. We praise God each night for the blessing that she is to us. All her pictures were on the computer when it was stolen and we didn’t back them up the way we should have. Tom’s mom does have a whole lot of them but I wanted to put it out there that if any other family members or friends have pictures of Savannah just let me know and I can send you a flash drive to copy them onto. We think we have most of the last year covered except a few months but it’s ok. Ohh any videos would be appreciated as well as those are all gone.
