Tuesday night kayaking

We made another weeknight trip to Tybee Island after the workday this week.  This trip was extra special because we were meeting our friends from church George and Gretchen Perez and their son Gabe. It was extra, extra special because they were bringing their kayaks and a picnic for everyone to enjoy.

We met up at the Back Bay at the south end of Tybee Island.  This is away from the ocean side of the island and away from the mouth of the Savannah River so the water is much more calm, especially at low tide while we were there. After finally meeting up with them we enjoyed a picnic on the beach followed by kayaking - even the kids!

Savannah went out with Daddy first and did a great job helping with the paddling.

Savannah got to go out first but Isaiah was certainly ready to go.

"I can't believe they just left me."

Isaiah finally got his chance and tried to grip the paddle. Once we got out in the water though he didn't move  a muscle. He claimed to like it though and even said, "kayak".

The girls went out as the boys were paddling.

As the sun went down we had a good time swimming around and talking with friends.
It was a beautiful night with fish jumping, crabs running, and dolphins swimming by. Oh, and a cat that wanted our chicken bones.

The sunset was gorgeous! Perfect by design.

What a great way to spend an evening with friends.
