What we like to call date night!

Well tonight was date night. We love date night in this family. This date night in particular was super special. Everyone got to go! We drew straws and daddy got a daughter and mommy got a son (and bonus daugther). Everyone has been looking forward to it all week and much fun was had by all. Tom and Savannah headed out for mexican and some downtown time. They rode the ferryboat and enjoyed River Street.

Isaiah, Ellie and I headed to CFA then to the airport to watch some planes take off and land. Ellie enjoyed her "Mommy-Son-Ellie"(as Isaiah called it) date night too! At first when we started talking about it this week, Isaiah said he wanted to go with daddy and didn't want to go with mommy. I was slightly heartbroken but recovered and we had a ball.

All ready to go! You can't tell but Isaiah is wearing daddy's old Detriot Tigers hat. Clearly, he is not their good luck charm.

My date fell asleep on the way there. Not sure when he will learn that we have nap time for a reason each day!
At the airport, he loved the airplanes. It was getting dark fast when we got there but you could still see the planes pretty well. Isaiah is wearing my jacket because he got cold.

In the car on the way to CFA, I asked Isaiah a bunch of questions to just hear from his sweet heart. Shortly after I stopped is when he fell asleep. I asked him again to get it on video at CFA. He is such a sweetie. Quick story.... the other night he was praying for a family that attends our church but we couldn't really understand what he was saying. He tried to explain it to us and we still struggled (we hope to be starting speech theraphy for him soon so we can understand him more). He then told us it was the family where someone died. We realized the family he was talking about and my heart was so proud. I took the kids to visit this family a few weeks ago after they returned home from the funeral for their nephew who was murdered. They sat in the car the whole time  but he remembered how we talked about loving our neighbor and praying for our friends. Out of the blue a few weeks later he was praying for them. I love his sweet heart.  Anyway, here is a video of me interviewing Isaiah again!

Sorry we don't have any pictures of the awesome daddy-daughter date, our family only has 1 camera!  Ohh and if anyone would like to offer to babysit sometime (for free, wink wink), mommy and daddy would like a date night too!!! Just saying!
