Post lemonade stand and a garden update

I forgot to post our post lemonade stand backyard antics. We busted out the sprinkler and had some fun in our grass/dirt backyard. Fun was had by all and after some convincing, daddy even got into the sprinklers.

 This is what Ellie did when I went inside, she is definitely a mommy's girl!

Here are a few videos of the fun. You will notice in the video that Ellie is making a "woofing" sound. We were dog sitting over the weekend and she barked allllll weekend. I think it is adorable.

 

This is our garden so far. We have our first tomatoes turning red and some itty bitty baby peppers and watermelon sprouting. Our squash have not produced yet as all the blooms are male blooms and without a male and female bloom you don't produce fruit. It's awesome to see God's perfect design in every aspect of life!

 Watermelon plants. Not sure if they will work in this small container, but it is all we have. We do have a few small watermelon blooms but we will see.

 Notice the chewed leaves on our pepper plant and the bowl in the background. I highly dislike slugs!

 Basil is doing pretty well. We had pesto last week and Isaiah loved it! Savannah did not, she has been a very picky eater lately.

Our biggest problem has been slugs. When I saw we have had a lot of slugs, I mean ALOT!!! They were eating our basil and peppers the most. Turns out slugs LOVE beer. We put a few bowls of beer our about ground level and they crawl in and drown. It is nasty but it has worked pretty well!
