Isaiah's Birthday Weekend

We had a wonderful full weekend of celebrating Isaiah's 4th birthday.  It has been amazing to see him grow and change and reveal his own unique personality and gifts.  We cannot wait to see him grow up and become the young man God has designed him to be.  Actually, we would love to wait and see him grow, but we are very much excited for him.

One of the birthday traditions that has developed in our family is for the kids to go on a daddy only lunch at a place of their choice.  Isaiah met me downtown at my office and we went out to a local breakfast/lunch spot and had pancakes for lunch.  After wards we just hung out in the squares for a little while.

Just thinking about life as a 4 year old

For Isaiah's birthday he wanted to go to a Sand Gnats game.  On the day of his birthday we went to a Sand Gnats game as a family.  Since he is in love with all things baseball and cannot get enough of it we invited some friends for a tailgate party and Sand Gnats game on Saturday night to celebrate Isaiah.  We were not real sure how Isaiah was going to handle the party because he is pretty shy at times (see above video).  He was so excited for his party and had a great time with some of his great friends.   The menu was complete with corndog muffins, sliders, popcorn, peanuts, fresh fruit, cracker jack's for the kids, and baseball cupcakes (which Isaiah did not actually like - he's an ice cream guy).

We had a great time thanks to lots of great friends

Isaiah had a blast.  Sometimes with the crowd, sometimes lost in himself.

A pretend snake hole had everyone very curious.

One child had to be held back from blowing out Isaiah's candles (love the ambition), one pushed Isaiah forward to get him closer to the candles (love the brotherhood), and everyone sang so nicely (love the fellowship).

Play ball! And eat cake!

We were the loudest cheering section, by far.

Happy Birthday from Gnate the Gnat

Thanks to everyone who so lovingly gave Isaiah some great birthday gifts.

Everyone enjoyed Isaiah's birthday.
And his cupcakes!
