We spent the afternoon at Tricentennial Park thanks to free museum Sunday which was taking place all across coastal Georgia. Tricentennial Park is the location of the Georgia State Railroad Museum, the relatively new and growing Savannah Children's Museum, and Savannah Battlefield Park and Redoubt - which you will see more of below. Enjoy.
Savannah was the most excited about joining the revolution. Ellie was also interested and marched around with a hatchet - until the noise of the drums and muskets started. After that she ran for mama. Not what you're looking for in your soldiers. Eventually the drums drew Isaiah in. Then I was handed a musket from one of the re-enactors and conscripted in to the army. Isaiah then was willing to pick up his musket and march into battle, but he always stayed close by.

not into the gun thing, but hope they had fun.
Generally speaking, we're not into gun play either, particularly considering the context of the gun culture where we live, but in the case of reenacting history, defeating tyranny, and protecting life and liberty we appreciate its purpose in educating about and understanding history. Thanks for reading and commenting as always Grammy!
