Carolina Christmas

We just got back from a long weekend celebrating Christmas in North Carolina with Sue’s family. Well, not quite all of us made it home to Richmond. Dixie will remain in North Carolina for an extra 10 days or so while we travel to Indiana for the New Year. Let’s just say that this is a very difficult time for everyone involved. We may not all be overly anxious and getting sick in our bed (like Dixie) but we are all missing her and anxious to have her back at home. It is amazing the role that dogs play in our life.

Anyway…we’ll cover the good stuff from Christmas in North Carolina, namely, Grammy, Poppie, Aunt Jayne, and Uncie Jason enjoying Savannah’s first Christmas with her parents.

Clearly Grammy enjoyed shopping for Savannah as her Christmas morning haul was considerably larger than everyone else’s. Poppie solidified his place as “POPP1E” in North Carolina with his new vanity plate. Aunt Jayne got some good practice at changing a baby (that’s all we say about that). And Jason began teaching Savannah the finer points of fly-fishing.

All in all we had a fabulous trip but it was much too short. We’ll just let the pictures do the talking from here.

Savannah tried out a retouched Hopalong Horse which I'm sure she'll get plenty of use out in the future. Nice paint job Poppie.

Resting up for the festivities.

A face full of Christmas cheer.

Hey Shanna! What'd you bring me?

Sad Dixie looking for her presents (and not finding much) Thanks to Jeb and Sam though!
