We don't get the privilege of having Spring Training in Georgia but we do get plenty of college baseball in town during the spring. Every weekend when Savannah and I walk Dixie to the park she wants to get in to the baseball stadium. Of course during the winter it is always closed, but not anymore. Saturday morning Savannah, Dixie and I went in and watched batting practice before the Savannah College of Art & Design vs. USC Beaufort game. It was pretty cool in the morning but Savannah enjoyed sitting in the box seats and walking up and down the stadium stairs. (The pictures aren't great since they're from my cellphone)
Sunday morning before church we walked by the stadium again. This time we watched the Naval Academy and Air Force Academy take batting practice. Since I knew Sue had a women's event to go to after church I told Savannah we could come watch the game after lunch. The weather had warmed up nicely so Savannah and I enjoyed about 4 innings of baseball. Last we saw the Midshipmen were up two runs in the 10th inning.
Before continuing I must offer apologies to Uncle Rick and Uncle Ed. I thought it would be nice to fit in with the crowd so Savannah and I wore my Air Force hats which I have had since high school (when I wanted to be a pilot).
Savannah actually sat an enjoyed cheering for the game. She cheered for both teams depending on whose fans were louder at the time.
Savannah enjoyed watching the other (older) kids around the stadium and picked up on a new cool way to wear her hat as you can see below. She also enjoyed showing the other kids how to dance during her favorite part of the game (the pitcher change). If I can figure out how to post the video I put that up later.
And as a note...If Isaiah would have gone to the game he would have worn his USNA bib to offer balance.
