A little catch up....

So it seems we forgot to update all of you about our Easter. I know it has been over a week but here we are. We had a really great Good Friday service and Sunday morning service at our church so it helped keep us focused this holiday season. We are not big Easter bunny/egg hunt people so we decided to do a few different things with the kids. We built a tomb for Jesus that Savannah and Isaiah helped make so we could talk more about the resurrection. They had a great time finding stones, leaves and sticks to make a tomb. Savannah then made a cross and attached our Jesus to it. She wrapped him in paper towel and buried him in the tomb. Sunday morning she was so excited to see he was sitting at the table waiting for her and no longer in the tomb! I got the idea from a friend's blog and it was a great opportunity to talk about how awesome it is that Jesus is no longer in the tomb and that death has no power over Him.

We spent Easter afternoon at one of our pastor's house with his family and another family from our church. We had a great time discussing all sorts of great things and eating lots of yummy food. The kids had a blast since there were 6 other kids there. We love the great community we have developed here in Savannah and are thankful for the ways the Lord has blessed our relationships. I am priviledged to work at our church as the Children's Ministry Director so it was great to be here and help out with the craziness of Easter morning. We had over 700 people hear the gospel and it was so powerful knowing that the Lord was using our body to bring people to salvation! The sermon was awesome and I totally recommend listening to it. If you get about 45 minutes of free time and are willing to give up your reality TV show for a night (which you should because really what eternal value does TV have?) the Lord will bless you through it.. CBC Eater sermon "Substitute".
