Apparently we have never been to a putt-putt golf course in our married lives. On Saturday we headed out to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant followed by Island Mini Golf and finishing up with dessert at La'Berry downtown (thanks Groupon and restaurant.com).
We had a blast together but quickly realized your mini golf skills get rusty after 7 years.
The wind really drove this shot into the trees.
Is it possible to hit at from here? Why yes it is.
Sue had much better form and a softer approach from the tee
Amazingly, our golf game truly represented that "two shall become one". It was eerie how often our shots ended up at exactly the same place - typically in a trap somewhere.
After the first round of golf we realized that we should take a break before hitting the links again. Sue really showed that softball is just like riding a bike.
After our rounds in the batting cages we challenged ourselves to another round of golf. The second time around was much improved. We each scored a hole in one and cut our scores by about 15 strokes (seriously).
Finally, after church on Sunday Savannah started to cry because she wanted to go out for our anniversary. She thought that our anniversary should be celebrated by a daddy-daughter date to Krispy Kreme. We didn't do that but after watching the Women's World Cup final together the whole family headed downtown for more frozen yogurt (this time at Fruzen Twist, La'Berry's down the street competition).
Savannah was also very sweet and made a "cake" for us to enjoy. She carried it to the table and "lit candles" for us to blow out.
Savannah sings while we blow out our candles - and Isaiah finds a better seat.
Praise God for sweet kids and 7 years of marriage. Here's to 77 more (give or take).
