Atlanta part 2

We (the girls) returned late Thursday night from Atlanta missing the boys. We dropped them off with friends from church to do some boys camping near Augusta for the weekend. We had quite a busy couple days the last few days in Atlanta. Our year end field trip was to the Georgia Aquarium this year. Savannah has studied and learned a lot about swimming creatures from our science curriculum called "Swimming Creatures of the 5th Day of Creation" from Apologia. The kids LOVED the aquarium. Savannah said her only wish was that they had more sharks and whales. I explained that it is hard to keep so many big animals in an aquarium. It was a really cool place with a lot to see.

The Beluga whales were her favorite!

Ellie loved this part where you crawled into a tunnel and came out right next to penguins.

The last day we went to Zoo Atlanta. We have been there several times before with the free library pass (as we did this time too). The kids always enjoy the pandas, lions, elephants, tigers and other cool animals. I think about 35 schools were taking end of year field trips to the zoo the day we were there but it wasn't too bad since it is such a big place.

There are twin pandas born last summer at the zoo. They are so cute and sooo tiny when they were born. They are also about to send 2 pandas back to China. The guide told us that the pandas are property of China so when they ask for them they have to give them back. Its so fun to watch the amazing creatures.
We had a great family vacation exploring Atlanta and you can look forward to pictures and stories from the boys camping adventure coming soon!
