Where did Christmas go????

Welp, today is January 6th. What happened to Christmas??? I realized we don't have any pictures of Christmas day, as I had no idea where our camera was. We spent most of Christmas playing games together and enjoying each other, oh yeah and being sick. On the 22nd, we took Isaiah to the Dr. and he tested positive for the flu. Awesome. We then cancelled our plans with alllll of our friends to see them before we moved and hunkered down expecting the worst. Isaiah was starting to feel better on the 24th and we started thanking the Lord for healing him so quickly when I noticed Caroline had a fever. Awesome. After watching her all day and into the  night we started to worry. I had been told me lots of friends who are nurses, PAs or work in the ER that we needed to take her to the ER since her fever was high and she was under 3 months. About midnight Christmas morning her fever was 103.5 an hour and a half after Tylenol and I decided to take her to the ER. Merry Christmas. Turns out she had the flu (duh) and we needed to give her Tylenol (duh). It was a waste of time and money. Again, the Lord showed mercy and healed her quickly with her fever being gone about noon on he 26th. Our health insurance ended on the 26th (again, Awesome.) On the 27th Tom started not feeling well but we had a lot to do and he shrugged it off (yep, you guessed it the flu). We packed, loaded and cleaned all weekend and headed out Monday the 29th. We literally could not have done it though without our dear friends the Titus' and Bargerons' who took the kids (knowing they might get the flu) so we could get some focused time to do what we needed to do. The kids have already talked about when we will go visit them. Ellie draws pictures for them every day too. Its adorable.
Ms. Stefanie even took them kayaking, how cool!

Look at that beautiful sky, ohhh how we miss the water already.

The morning we left, our good friends the Harrells brought doughnuts and said goodbye since the flu had thrown off our previous plans. They also braved the risk of the flu to say goodbye, that is how you know you have good friends. Savannah will greatly miss her best friend Gress, she has cried a few times already, its heartbreaking. Gress' mom Emily has been such an encourager and it has been a privilege to do life and homeschool with her. She has such a heart to love and serve others and it is wonderful to see how she loves her kids and challenges herself to be the best mom she can be. I will miss her dearly. I am sad I didn't get a picture with her....

When we first met Savannah and Gress were 2 and Isaiah was a tiny baby. My, how our families have grown!

We arrived in Louisville Tuesday the 30th and Tom did not feel well. Wednesday the 31st, he went to the Dr. (again with no health insurance) and he had the flu and strep. Awesome. Happy Birthday to me! A round of antibiotics is still in the works but he is feeling much better. He went into work for a bit on the 2nd and started full time yesterday the 5th. Again I say, what happened to Christmas??

We are reading a book about advent during school with the kids and I am trying to discuss it on the backend of celebrating Jesus' birth. We are pretty settled here and trying to get into a normal swing of school and playing games in the cold weather. We have temporary housing since our house in Savannah hasn't sold yet and we are extremely thankful for it so our family could be together. We aren't sure what will happen if our house hasn't sold by the end of Feb.(our temp housing is for Jan. and Feb.). We have discussed it and neither of us are worried though. We have seen the Lord provide and are confident that He will continue to do so. It's actually really fun to see Him do it and to wait in expectation.

We were blessed with gift memberships to the Louisville zoo and the Kentucky Science Center for Christmas. We visited the Science Center once already and look forward to many more trips. We have also changed our address to a PO Box so if you want that just let us know. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We rest in knowing the Christmas when Jesus was born was chaotic and crazy too, so we are not alone.

your description of leaving Savannah almost made me cry, so I know Savannah (child) might be struggling along with her parents. The others might not remember as much as she will. I hope your experiences moving when you were young can help her some. We love you!
