As I finish the rundown of the week that was (and a little of this past week) I wonder if it ever snows in Israel. You may be wondering, "why would I be thinking that at all?" Simply because every year we go to Pennsylvania for Easter and it never fails to snow. And if the disciples are anything like Dixie than it is no surprise most of them wouldn't go running to the tomb when they heard the news from the women. Dixie is a carbetbagger Southern dog and doesn't appreciate the snow on her paws, unless she has seen a squirrel to chase. So I wonder, does it snow in Jerusalem and did the disciples have a real good reason to not believe, or at least at reason to not even check it out. Cause even Dixie will run through the snow if the prize is worth the effort.
This time she stayed on the sidewalk.
We did spend Easter weekend in Indiana, PA which was very convenient because it also happened to be Grandma's birthday, that's Savannah's grandma. So we got there on Friday and enjoyed dinner together and it is abundantly clear that Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma Stephens appreciated the time with Savannah Grace.
Savannah enjoyed singing with GGMa's cardinal.
Four generations of the Rising family
We are not sure when we will get back to Pennsylvania now but we are glad we had the chance to get there last weekend. As an addition, and to catch up, here's a few more shots from this week.
Our friends Jelani and Tasha got married at church on Friday in a beautiful ceremony. Jelani has been in Richmond less time than us and already found a bride! God does great things when we allow him to work.
The newlyweds
The wedding party...Stephen's next.
Finally...They say your kids grow up way too fast but I never thought that I would be walking Savannah down the aisle already. She did indeed walk down the aisle though she stumbled a bit and really clung to me. Meanwhile, Wiley had to be carried down the aisle. I'm not sure what that means for their future. But Pastor David Singh says that being Indian he is okay with arranged marriages (joking of course).
Today is indeed Savannah and Wiley's big day however as we are having a service at church today dedicating them, and ourselves as parents, to God and His glory. More on that to come.
