What a cutie!
We also spent Memorial Day weekend at a local state park. They have some great trails on the marsh and a pool. We actually came to the park previous to our Memorial Day trip and here are some pictures of that trip. Dixie appreciated the time outside and Savannah thought it was a bumpy yet fun ride in the stroller.
While we were getting ready to leave Tom thought it was a great chance for a little soccer lesson with Savannah. Let me tell you from someone who doesn’t really know much about soccer, Savannah seems to be picking it up pretty well. She likes to kick things and does really well with you kick a ball with her. What talent she has, obviously it is from her father!
Tom has taken a break from playing soccer here which is very sad for him. For those of you who don’t know, he broke his left leg while playing at the beginning of Nov. and he thought he broke it again a few weeks ago. He went to the Dr. and they told him that in fact it was not broken, but the previous break had not healed properly so he is going to see an orthopedist to see why his break that should have healed in 8 weeks is still not fully healed 7 months later. We are praying for good news! We are also very thankful for health insurance, even if it is ridiculously expensive!
We have calmed down our outside time as much during the day since the high today was supposed to be about 95, I guess we are just starting to get a taste of what the next few months will be. We did get out last weekend for a free concert at Forsyth Park featuring Natasha Beddingfield. SCAD puts on a free concert for graduation every year and we ventured out with out blanket and toys for Savannah. She did pretty well until about 9 and then she was just soo tired that she started getting fussy. We enjoyed ourselves and have started to enjoy “dates” out together with Savannah. Again, no pictures of the concert sorry!
I am having a great time staying home with Savannah and it is just so fun to watch her learn and explore things. She has started climbing on things which is fun but also means that you have to watch her carefully! She loves to have long and very serious talks with Tom when he gets home from work. She will just stand next to him and jibber jabber profusely with some very emphatic phrases along the way. I don’t know if we are emphatic when we talk to each other but she has some very serious things to tell him. She had her 9 month check up at about 9 ½ months and she is back to the high percentile for her stats. She was 21 pounds and 8 ounces, and is 29 inches long. That means that she has grown over 7 inches in the last 9 months, just amazes me each day! She will officially be 10 months in a few days and the closer she gets to 1 the more trouble I am having with the realization that she really isn’t much of a little baby anymore. She even started saying a new word this week, she loves ducks and started saying it and pointing to the ducks in books some. Amazing!
We are still looking at houses here and are trying to take our time and see as many options as far as houses, neighborhoods and prices that we can before we starting making offers. It is going pretty well, we have some options that are pretty viable. They will all need some sort of work, but we are excited about the possibilities.
Ok, here are a few more pictures of Savannah just playing around the house and at the park last weekend.
What, I didn't do anything!
I love playing with Dixie's leash!
This picture is supposed to be upside down playing with Daddy!
We are going to be busy this summer with trips to SC to see my grandparents this weekend, my sister and her husband coming down to visit at the end of June, a trip to see all of my dad’s side of the family in July, a baby shower for my sister in NC in August and a trip over Labor Day weekend to see Tom’s family! I hope gas prices don’t get too much higher, goodness this is ridiculous! That is a whole nother blog in and of itself!
