Birthday weekend and other exciting happenings

We had a very exciting weekend as it was Tom's birthday this weekend! We decided that we wanted to celebrate it all weekend because we love Tom so much!

We grilled out on Friday night and just spent some good quality family time together. Then on Saturday we went for a long walk in our neighborhood to a new playground that we have not yet visited (Savannah and Dixie really enjoyed it.) Then the rest of the morning was spent putting up a new swing for Savannah in our backyard!

I think Tom enjoyed the tree climbing part.

We then headed to Wiley's Barbecue for lunch to enjoy some really good BBQ! Wiley and his wife have championship BBQ and decided to settle down in Savannah and open up a restaurant after years of traveling and catering. The sauce was pretty good but the meat was really what won us over, yummy! Saturday evening was just some homemade pizza and enjoying the swing. We even got to play a game with Savannah awake as Tom watched the final four games.

This was how Savannah wanted to go to church Sunday morning. She even walked to the car like this (yes those are my shoes!)

We had planned to go out to Tybee and hopefully drop Savannah off with some friends from church who live out there for a few hours, but it started raining so we just spent Sunday (Tom's birthday) around the house enjoying each other some more. For dinner we had french toast (Tom's favorite). I found a recipe for creme brulee french toast and decided to try it out. Let's just say it is very rich and you don't need any syrup or anything else to add to it.

So this isn't the best picture in the world but it is good!

In other family news most of us have gotten hair cuts recently. Dixie's being the most dramatic. We had not cut her hair in about a year and she looks like a different dog. We gotta get her ready for the hot summers. Savannah just had a bangs trim and I got my hair cut for the first time in over 6 months. Good thing Tom's is short and he can cut his own because we are pretty bad at keeping up with our haircuts aparently.

Of course we couldn't forget baby Isaiah! He and I are both getting bigger each week! Can't wait to meet him this summer!
