Asheville trip

This past weekend we cut out early Friday morning to head north to NC to meet up with some of Tom's family to go to his cousin's wedding in Asheville. We first went to Hendersonville to eat lunch and enjoy some family time together. We stopped at the camp I used to work at and enjoyed some outdoor time.

We then headed to downtown Hendersonville to enjoy the shops and the cute downtown district. Tom enjoyed a banana split milkshake which Savannah kept calling a smoothie, she of course did not get any.

On Saturday morning we went to the Asheville Farmers Market which is quite impressive and enjoyed some time with grandma and grandpa as well as Dave and Jackie! Savannah enjoyed the free melon samples!

There sure were a lot of jams and jellies!

We then headed to a river walk on the French Broad River where Savannah enjoyed running and playing with grandma and grandpa. It rained on and off during the day but we were able to get out and enjoy some of Asheville.

Saturday afternoon was the wedding of Tom's cousin Tina and it was great to see some family that came down from Pennsylvania, including some of Tom's aunts, uncles and cousins. Savannah did pretty well as the church did have a toddler room with toys that she thoroughly enjoyed!

Grandma held Savannah for part of the actual wedding, it was an outdoor ceremony!

We discovered our carnivore enjoys prime rib! She ate that and some potatoes and bread, what an expensive date she will be in 25 years!

Savannah slept with us for the weekend as she is way too big for the pack and play and we didn't have anywhere else for her to sleep.

Let's just say she got really used to it and it has been a rough couple of nights getting her to go to sleep since our return. Monday and Tuesday were both 2 hours but I finally broke down and gave her back the bumper. I thought maybe she would transition away from it since she didn't have it all weekend, turns out she needs it still. When we gave it to her Tuesday night she went right to sleep! Napping has been rough, she is currently sleeping on the floor in her room right next to the door with her bumper, blanket, baba and piggy. Not a big fan of the toddler bed today, we shall see how the night goes!

We also stopped on the way home to visit my grandmother in SC and had a really good time with her. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures there but Savannah entertained us with some made up songs and it was quite funny. We also brought a few things home from their townhouse which my grandmother is wanting to sell in the next few months. We know it is hard on her going through things but she is a strong woman and is really doing well after losing big daddy just a few months ago. Her new room is really nice and we look forward to getting back up there soon! We love you Nana!
