Indoctrination

We visited a new church plant led by some friends and church members that we knew in Louisville when we first met.  While we don't know a lot of people in Louisville it has been great to see a few friendly faces and to be warmly welcomed - thanks Therron, Kendra and Shay. After church, Therron invited us to go to a U of L women's basketball game.  We of course said yes and so the indoctrination began.

This certainly is a basketball crazy city and the men's loss yesterday was a downer for many. "Go Wolfpack" says Sue, even though she was wearing a Louisville shirt yesterday.  The lady Cards faired better against UNC today then the men did against NC State.  Savannah was especially excited to watch and cheer and I think she is envisioning herself as a college basketball player. She would also like to be able to do flips like the cheerleaders - she's on her own with that one. Everyone else was pretty tired but they all enjoyed the game. Ellie especially loves basketball for some reason.

It was pretty impressive to see such a large crowd for a women's basketball game. Louisville really supports their teams. Clearly they really enjoy their $250 million dollar home.

Isaiah says he enjoyed himself but he was tired. He cracked a big small when I reminded him college baseball starts this week (free games!). However, the potential 10" of snow and single digits temps may squash that.

Close game throughout, but the Cardinals pulled away with it in the end.  We had a great time and really appreciate the shared tickets. It may be a while before we can snag (or afford) tickets for a men's game.
