Penguins, Sea Island and Father's Day!

Savannah (and Isaiah) received a nice package from Grandma and Grandpa recently which she was very excited about, Tom well he wasn't too excited about the contents of the package. We did find a nice blanket for Isaiah, an outfit Tom wore when he was little as well as a cute picture of him in the outfit but best of all there were presents for Savannah and Isaiah. Savannah got a penguin and Isaiah got a hockey puck (Tom got parenting advice). Now these aren't just any penguin and hockey puck, they are for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh just beat Detroit in the Stanley Cup Finals 4 games to 3 and Tom was definately cheering for the Red Wings. Now we acknowledge that Tom's family is from Western Pennsylvania and we in no way are trying to disgrace his family roots, but Tom is a big Detroit fan and it seems like he always has been. When we first met it was during the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2002 and I heard Tom talking about it. Keep in mind I have never been a huge hockey fan, ok a hockey fan of any kind. I turned to talk to Tom (our first interaction) and made a comment about how I went to school in Raleigh, Hurricanes territory (they were playing Detroit in the Stanley Cup that year) and he made a not so nice comment back to me. Lucky for me I thought he was cute and was still interested but I don't think I made a good first impression on him needless to say. I digress but just making my point of how big of a fan he is of Detroit. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.....

Let's just say Savannah woke up to this in the morning and she started talking about getting Dixie's leash down, she didn't get it thank goodness!

We were invited down to Sea Island, GA this past weekend by the Illians (good friends from Richmond) and had the priviledge of enjoying some great time with them and the whole Sea Island experience. It is really beautiful (very expensive, but beautiful!) Catherine's grandparents own a house down there and were gracious enough to invite us and share their time down there with us. Savannah had a great time playing with their son Jack and she LOVED swimming in the pools (beach, not so much)!

On the way home, we stopped in St. Simons to explore some and check out their cute beachfront area. We didn't stay long since it was over 100 outside, but enjoyed a good lunch for Father's Day and some time together.

We also stopped at the mall on the way home and Savannah played in the soft toy area and discovered the carousel. She loved it and cried when it was time to get off, I guess she remembered her first ride this past Christmas in Indiana!

Savannah told Tom Happy Father's Day all day and we spent some good family time together to celebrate Tom and the blessing he is to our family. He is a fabulous husband, wonderful father and strong man of God, we are so blessed by his leadership every day and he does a great job of leading Savannah towards the Lord. Thank you Lord for providing such a strong and great man not only as my husband but also as Savannah and Isaiah's father! We love you Tom/Daddy!
